Our Process


As an executive search recruiter, CareerSMITH's top priority is providing the highest quality search services to our clients.

Our proven recruitment process, combined with in-depth company and industry knowledge, results in identifying and delivering the best candidates within the shortest cycle times possible.

We will consult with you to prepare a comprehensive position description and identify target companies that may be potential sources for candidates. Our executive recruiting firm's extensive resources will be utilized to identify and evaluate appropriate individuals for the position.

Our evaluation process includes the administration of competency based assessments and other third party assessments, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Through these assessments and detailed evaluations we are able to provide valuable information about the candidates' strengths, their work and leadership styles, and other drivers influencing their performance.

We will present well-qualified candidates for your consideration as quickly as we identify and evaluate them. Our objective is to present the first candidate within 20-40 days and additional candidates throughout the search assignment.

After we have interviewed and appraised the top candidates, we will provide you with in-depth assessment reports describing the background and qualifications of every individual we recommend, along with strategies to motivate and encourage the candidate to make the decision to make a career move. CareerSMITH will then arrange for you to meet a few select candidates and conduct extensive reference checks on final candidates. During this recruiting effort, we will work closely with you to extend an offer to and successfully negotiate with the candidate you choose.

Due to the "War for Talent" in our industry, CareerSMITH realizes that the search isn't done when the candidate accepts the position. Counteroffers are becoming more common and enticing. Our Partners and Consultants develop and nurture the relationship with our candidates, thus ensuring they remain motivated until they report to work. We communicate with our clients and their new employees after the search is completed to facilitate a smooth transition.


Our commitment to you extends after the employee we recruited reports to work. If the candidate we have placed does not, for reasons of background, experience or qualifications, perform as initially expected and is terminated for performance reasons within six months of the date of employment, CareerSMITH will conduct the assignment again.
