PROJECT EXECUTIVE

We have been retained by our client to identify and recruit a Project Executive. Our Client is California's preeminent large-project general contracting corporation and a highly regarded construction firm providing a full spectrum of preconstruction and construction services on a regional basis. The company is recognized for high quality, speed of construction, industry-leading use of technology in construction, and expertise in building landmark projects. This multibillion dollar firm is nationally ranked among Engineering News Record's Top Contractors. The company has worked on distinctive projects throughout California for marquis clients and has built numerous iconic and noteworthy projects.

The Project Executive will provide strategic leadership in managing and executing all phases of project delivery of a historic $700 million plus general building project in Los Angeles. This position is the single point of responsibility for the project delivery including schedule, budget, safety, quality, and client satisfaction. The successful candidate must be a strong dynamic leader with a strong track record of project delivery excellence and safety, as well as the demonstrated ability to effectively manage a diverse group of project stakeholders including the owner, architect, contractors, subcontractors, management, and the internal project team.

This position will be located in Los Angeles, CA.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:
  • Ensure project success through managing and monitoring the processes, progress and results of financial goals, schedule, quality, team effectiveness, employee development and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary Owner/Contractor interface with overall project responsibility, from preconstruction to close-out.
  • Manage financial functions including P&L accounting reports, project financial reviews, balance sheet accounting, and preparation of reporting documents, insurance management, risk management, financial forecast analysis, and accounts payable/accounts receivable oversight.
  • Establish strong working relationships as both a leader in the internal organization and as the primary interface with external subcontractors and other entities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex project design and construction problems.
  • Lead value management efforts on the project during design and construction to assure that the project is delivered on budget.
  • Demonstrate the highest understanding of Construction Documentation processes.
  • Ensure that general requirements of the Project Scope are met and direct the management of project delivery stakeholder on their respected scopes, commitments and deadlines.
  • Ensure the Company is protected from scope creep with the timely issuance of notification, estimates and change orders.
  • Proactively manage the roles and responsibilities of each direct reporting project lead on the team.
  • Manage and direct schedule, budget and cost for design and construction activities, and direct the quality control system for all phases of the project.
  • Develop, manage and document processes for delivery of the project in a consistent manner.
  • Continuously monitor for ways to enhance and streamline processes and present innovative ideas for continuous improvement of the Construction Process.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedure including business conduct and building parameters.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop large project teams to ensure both project success and individual growth.
Key skills and experience that our client desires include:

  • Ensure a zero accident worksite and constantly monitor all project related activities to ensure an exceptional safety record.
  • Anticipate project challenges and ensure timely reporting to executive management.
  • Collaborate with the Owner to develop project scope and budget for the project and manage the involvement of other stakeholders to confirm project and design features and to meet budget and schedule requirements.
  • Proactively manage the roles and responsibilities of each direct reporting project lead on the team.
  • Manage and direct schedule, budget and cost for design and construction activities, and direct the quality control system for all phases of the project.
  • Develop, manage and document processes for delivery of the project in a consistent manner.
  • Continuously monitor for ways to enhance and streamline processes and present innovative ideas for continuous improvement of the Construction Process.
